Juvenile leadership

Pros

Pay and benefits commensurate to traditional American company with mediocre track record needing to attract good people to improve reputation

Cons

Lots of politics, lack of internal alignment, lack of trust, confusing messages. Overall covered by a juvenile approach to leadership and key functions such as strategy, finance and marketing. Lack of respect also expressed through rude language and dismissive hierarchical behavior. Can sense a certain desperation stemming from inability to grow the business and having to execute cuts instead, which have led to vicious cycle of finger pointing. Other Divisions and other companies look down on this entity, not good for career, despite leadership insisting how "good this is" - Awareness issue?

Pros

Compensation is competitive because this is a life-sciences company. I always appreciated that there was an emphasis on providing solutions that are strategic here (i.e. that we were encourgaed as workers to consider the strategic impact of our actions). Strong opportunities for personal development and growth. Opportunities to move within the company. Generally well-managed. Learned a lot.

Cons

Work/life balance is pretty low, though leaders can be flexible in terms of work arrangements (like, let staff work at home sometimes). Culture is OK, and varies by work location.
