Pros

Nice coworkers Pay was decent Flexible Clean work environment Fast responses from everyone

Cons

Terrible micromanagement across entire division Played a lot of “favorites” which resulted in some employees getting extra time off or overtime and some not Training was awful and rules were added every week to comply to but the expectations changed from employee to employee on how to adhere to this rules they made up Employees complained about being overworked and mental health but management ignored and simply shut them down Red flags the first day I got there when everyone told me how many employees left in the department just months ago…I should’ve known it had something to do with the way we were managed Abbott also has a no retaliation clause in where they can’t get mad if you discuss salary as there shouldn’t be anything to hide if we’re all being paid what we deserve right? Then why did the managers get angry, pull us into meetings to discuss this matter saying it’s not professional, and limit how much we can get approved for time off and over time for it.

Great pay and benefits, awful culture

Pros

The pay is pretty good and you get a nice yearly bonus, plus a salary increase of about 3%

Cons

Extremely old school culture. Get rewarded by allowing us to wear jeans (it's not 1970 anymore). Explicitly against working from home, even though they say they are flexible. If you're in a technical role, expect to be managed by a marketing person who has no technical knowledge and will never appreciate your work because they don't understand it. Upper management are babied and treated like gods. Everything is urgent and top priority but then 90% of this work is discarded by leadership on a whim.

Pros

I have had great opportunities to engage in activities that I enjoy. In my position I get a good degree of variability of tasks, which I highly enjoy. I can work from home if needed. They have a solid benefits package and I have enjoyed some of the friendliest and knowledgeable coworkers I could ask for.

Cons

Pay is low for tech workers compared to many other sectors. Advancement is slow and seems to occur on a time table rather than on performance and readiness. Even if management wants to advance you, many times they are handcuffed by what corporate will allow. Even with being able to occasionally work from home, they have made it very clear that they are not authorizing full remote work
