Pros

I feel supported by my colleagues and my superiors at Absorb. After working here for less than a year I was offered a chance to develop and take on a new role where I had expressed interest. Absorb fosters growth and a supportive work environment. Work-life balance is fostered at Absorb where you can choose your own hours that make sense for you, and receive one work from home day a week. Weekly pastry deliveries are an added treat, along with other almost monthly activities and team building events.

Cons

Sometimes things can move slowly and there is not always transparency in processes, however this is something that has been recognized by upper management and is being worked on.

Pros

People and culture Drivable or transit accessible Office design/work environment Everyone takes lunch at the same time allowing which allows everyone to bond a bit more. Installation of Video Games on PC is acceptable to play on your lunch etc.

Cons

Upper management seems to keep secrets although they speak of transparency Communication between departments lacking but mostly from upper management to lower management there is a huge breakdown there and is probably the only cause of tension in the work place.

Pros

When I first started at Absorb, they were doing everything right! HR completely transformed the culture into an inclusive environment that fostered collaboration and growth and promoted work-life balance. I was truly amazed by Mike's leadership, particularly throughout the pandemic. The company allowed the flexibility of working from home, provided great benefits, and ensured their employees were set up with every resource they needed to avoid burnout and stay happy and healthy. Since the company was acquired and new leadership took over, the company culture has taken a nose-dive and turnover rates are crazy high. Some current pros are that they still offer flexibility to work from home, have an incredible state-of-the-art office, and good benefits.

Cons

Unfortunately, there were a lot of changes once the company was acquired and new leadership took over, which left a very toxic work environment. Previous autonomy in roles was replaced with micro-managing, they LOWERED PAY in some roles (that were already well-below industry standards), there is now extremely high turnover so it's hard to build relationships, and anytime leadership is confronted about these issues, it seems like they always have a canned response ready that is completely disingenuous. At Absorb, it feels like you are just another number and if you are not in the top elite group of employees, you feel completely disposable. It makes people not want to work towards moving the company forward if they're never recognized or appreciated. There is a complete disconnect between upper management and lower level staff and no transparency in the organization. You see the same old song and dance when other companies are acquired and Absorb is no different.

Pros

The comradery and support among our team is incredible. The support starts right from the first contact with the SDR and stays with you all the way to closing deals with supervisors and directors jumping on calls to assist with those final negotiations when needed. We help each other grow not only as individuals but as a team. The drive and support of upper management is beyond empowering. They are truly invested in our success. During a very difficult personal month my supervisor ran meetings for me and literally carried me across the finish line to hitting my quota. I probably would not still be here today had I not had her support. There are no limits as to what they will do to help us grow and succeed. Being able to come to work every day and know I have the opportunity to help a company grow and become more successful is so rewarding. There is true excitement from clients when they choose Absorb which is why I always look forward to next call, who’s company will I change today? I'm honored and grateful to be part of such an amazing team and company.

Cons

I really enjoy my job. I'm always anticipating the next lead and look forward to growth and always being busier.

Pros

Some nice people, good pay check. The (used-to-be) 7 h working day/ 35 h working week was nice. CEO is a nice guy.

Cons

Diversity is an issue at the company. Racism seems to have the upper hand among a lot of people. White people will ALWAYS have the priority over others when promotions are considered, regardless of experience or competences. Some people just cannot help it and that is a fact. The number of non-white people who are in a top managerial role is... ZERO (NONE). The number of non-white people who are leading teams is one out of at least 12 teams and that one leads a crappy project that no one wants to lead. I've seen people leaving the company cause they did not get their chance simply because of their skin colour. Unfortunately, upper management does not recognize that all employees what keeps the company running and money coming in, and yet they're completely unsympathetic to the toxic work environment they've created. Some team leaders are better managers of the work than senior managers, which results in big variations in team cultures from one project to another. There is absolutely no room to voice concerns and anyone who does speak up or dares to have an opinion is labeled difficult and promptly targeted/pushed out. For a lot of people, no room for growth, lay-offs last year were unexpected. The senior management is disconnected from the other company and are especially dismissive of concerns. Neither of them deign to interact with anyone below their level, and internal communications from them are shameful and gross.
