Abt is a family-owned and operated business. We are accommodating and understanding with time off and vacation requests. However, working at Abt can be fast paced and demanding, which is not for everyone. The majority of our staff is happy with the amount of hours they work versus the alternative of being laid off and unemployed. We are proud to say we have never had a layoff in 85 years of business.

Good place to work while in school or if you’re at the end of your career. Work life balance was decent.

Cons

Biased workforce. Hard to move up in the company. Work culture seems to be off balance, sales people seem to have no accountability

As a business, we thrive off of promoting from within. Almost every single one of our managers started in an entry level position and over the course of their career has been promoted into a managerial roll. In addition, we give all employees the opportunity to grow with the company by providing training and posting certain positions on our internal job board. Lastly, all departments work hand in hand, especially sales and customer service.

A majority of our staff have started in entry-level positions and have moved up within the store. We offer in house training to all our employees and empower our staff to move up within the company everyday with internal job postings. The bonus fund is extra pay on top of your hourly rate and was designed as an incentive to do the right thing for our customers and the store. If you don't understand the bonus program or are looking to grow within the company, just go see any manager, they would be happy to help you.
