Cons

Admin support is next to nonexistent Everything is done last minute Student behavior is off the rails awful Specials teachers are always afterthoughts No curriculum, just a framework Poor communication

Pros

Getting experience at a place so unorganized, chaotic and corrupt will only make you stronger, capable and thankful for your next job.

Cons

-Out of touch leaders (AIG) who lack compassion, humility and understanding -Run now former ex University of Phoenix employees, the same company who was charged with deceptive advertising (now AMS deceives both teachers and parents) -Teacher/Employee retention (Each week someone new is fired - If you are applying, ask the principal how many open teachers positions they have open currently, you'll be amazed to see at least 1/3 of the teacher staff being substitutes) -Favoritism (Countless moments of seeing other teachers and teams being treated different by school and office leaders)

Pros

None, there are no pros.

Cons

No structure Worst environment for the poor, underpaid and overworked staff. Typical “pizza party” employers. No work/life balance, PTO cannot be accrued yet we were expected to be present all school year long. Low pay and no clear job descriptions. Constantly hired people that were not qualified to teach. Paraprofessionals with no kind of teaching degree, would end up substituting classes for months at a time and parents were given the run around when they’d find out about the teacher quitting. SPED department was a complete joke, setting up scholars with disabilities for failure. Zero support for them available on campus. Administration lied to parents constantly, told them what they wanted to hear but would push the scholar out of the school and dress it up as “a transfer”. HR department was not consistent. So glad I got out of there, I wouldn’t recommend this employer to anyone.
