I have been employed with Acadian Ambulance for 5 years and my experience here has been amazing. The pros are you have career advancement opportunities, health, vision and dental insurance. Retirement plans such 401k and ESOP. The company will pay for school if you want to become an EMT or Paramedic which is wonderful in today’s world of hardship. I have a passion for what I do and I love the balance between emergency calls and non emergency calls such as transfers, medical appointments and hospital discharges. Most of all the traveling opportunities to work in other areas is such an amazing experience. If you’re interested in a career in EMS Acadian is the place to be.

Cons

Only Con of mines is sometimes we get LD transports and when heading back to our coverage area another zone may drop a call on you. I truly don’t mind because it’s usually life threatening calls or a transfer going in my direction. It just be one of situations where after a ling drive to wherever and driving back you are tired and only want to get back complete your end of shift duties and go home to your family.
