Company is a great place to start if you are a new paramedic.
Pros
Company really tries to look after their employees, benefits are decent. Most low level management, definitely seems to care about it's employees. Always have overtime available. Good every level job to get experience.
Cons
Dispatch is basically the management of the field units and make poor logistical decisions frequently. No stations and a lot of street corner posting. Low pay but comparable to other private ems companies in the area. Micromanagement is definitely a problem. Mid level management and up seem disconnected with field problems that could increase public relations within the communities they serve. Acadian seems to have a bad image within a lot of the communities they serve and does not have very good relations with other civil service providers in same service areas. Is seen as a money hungry corporation that puts profit over patient care. Your performance evaluations that dictate your annual raise, is based upon more about making the company money than actual education and experiential growth.
