Pros

There are no pros. Except maybe: Many people who don't work at Accenture apparently think it is impressive to work at Accenture. I'm not sure why, but I respect their opinion.

Cons

Accenture severely underpays its employees. Accenture has a culture of racism and discrimination. Accenture practices tolerance - tolerance of prejudice, harassment and discrimination. Accenture is extremely alienating to people of "other" cultures. Accenture at its most senior levels is very racist. The culture of the firm is fueled and determined by its leadership. I've worked at another firm of comparable size and reputation before and never once did I experience the level or number of attacks or indignities at that firm, that I experienced at Accenture. All of this is fully tolerated and, by effect, encouraged by leadership. I would never work here again. I would never encourage someone else to work here if they had other options. Accenture is in poor financial health as it is, so I look forward to the day they go under. It took me longer than I expected or would have liked, but I was so happy and thankful the day I finally found a new position elsewhere and could finally kiss this place goodbye. Goodbye Accenture!

Pros

Abundant PTO Friday work from home Good training programs Prestige, good brand, respected Young workforce, very smart and intelligent people

Cons

1. Beware of the newly promoted homegrown managers. The usual 25 to 30 years of age group. These kids have no people skills, no experience with a real job and are only good at Excel and ppts which experienced hires are typically not. These guys are almost waiting for you to falter so that they can critic you in the review and get brownie points for that. They don't know when to give feedback or how to give feedback. You can only imagine when these guys make it to Senior Manager level by 35. I am not saying all are like that but just from my experience. 2. Its like you have two jobs. One for the client from 8 to 8 and then from 10 to 2 am is for the practice including weekends 3. Almost everyone excels on client jobs, what separates you from the next best performer is how much of the other stuff you do. Like practice building, community park cleaning etc etc 4. Since it is not a real job, there is no direct ownership feeling which kind of sucks. 5. Peopl are uber competitive and since you are graded against one another, I dont know how there can ever be camaraderie or team spirit. People know they will be graded for everything, the way they talk, the way they behave, the way the think etc etc which feels like a farce. The real you gets lost somewhere. And as I said the second you step in on an engagement, you will be graded for everything. You cannot fail! 6. I guess all of the above should not come new to people who are interested to go to consulting, So its like buyer beware. 7. While its OK to reap diamonds on the top performer, the average performers cannot be completely ignored. After all, even a loose screw can cause a machine to fail

Pros

There are not many pros I can think of, none come to mind.

Cons

You are constantly lied to, pushed into things I do not want to do and they do not, they do not listen to your thoughts, wants, needs, nothing...
