      Pros

      Day time job. Worked around my school schedule. Customers were super nice and made job bareable.

      Cons

      Management was terrible and do not care about anyone working below them. Crappy owners who are completely money hungry and a-holes. Low pay for the amount of work you are expected to do. No advancement.

      Pros

      I enjoyed working for Ace. I made a lot of friends and learned a lot about the industry. They also offer great benefits.

      Cons

      Career advancement is somewhat limited. Middle and senior management have so much on their plates that they sometimes lose focus on employee engagement.

      Pros

      I was hired at Ace Hardware while a customer, I didn't know the manager was on the floor and ended up having a lovely chat with him, ending in being invited back for an interview. The training was basic and simplistic, I was put on the cash register and only mastered that. It took nearly 8 months of part time work to actually begin learning more about the store and step outside of my comfort zone. The employees were all wonderful, and I had plenty of time to ask questions and get to know the store and merchandise. The management team at my store were pretty coordinated and easy to get along with.

      Cons

      Raises at my store were rare. On my hire I was told 'never', but upon asking other coworkers they said 'six months' usually they saw something. Being a fairly low wage, it was difficult to give commitment to them for full time. The lack of in-depth training hindered my ability to advance myself so asking for a raise would be more respected.
