      TERRIBLE Management

      Pros

      I started at the head cashier and was promoted to front end manager so with both titles I did have a fabulous set schedule which is rare in retail. I worked Monday-Friday 7:30-4:30.

      Cons

      Keep in mind all ace hardware's are individually owned but the one I worked at in Alpharetta, GA was TERRIBLE. They start you out at minimum wage which is fine, it is a retail job but they expect way to much from you. They "promote" you and promise evaluations after 60 days which comes with a pay raise and when that 60 days comes around they lie and say they never promised anything and that a "title" should be enough for us !!

      Pros

      Dedicated employees who care about the company. Great 401k match/profit sharing and bonuses. Company culture of getting in early, getting your work done, and going home by 5, encouraged by senior executives who do it themselves.

      Cons

      Too little turnover, many employees have never worked anywhere else. What worked 10-15 years ago in retail doesn't necessarily work now, and there's a lot of dead weight in middle management that isn't interested in innovating.

      Good starting pay, excellent benefits

      Cons

      They don't care about the employees, to bad if you need time off and donot have PTO days.Some of the supervisors are very nasty.You will work like a dog, sick or injured.
