Training:
-Mostly informational (the technical part of the role). Not much to speak of for actual learning how to sell the product.
-Recently there were a few classes where they kept large groups of people in Training (meaning they didn't graduate on time) because they couldn't meet performance and/or knowledge expectations
-Trainers are not Sales Trainers
Some Need to Knows:
-Achieve has incorporated something called an Alpha Ranking. Essentially you're measured on your Tier's* average. It's how they determine if you advance tiers or get written up
-*Tiers. Not uncommon for call centers but based on your performance you're placed in a Tier. Tier 1 is where the higher converting/higher valued leads are housed. Tier 4 is where the lowest converting leads/lowest valued leads are housed.
***WARNING***: You will start out in Tier 4. Their was this thing where they were giving those in Training the higher converting leads to boost their confidence out of the gate but that created unfair advantages and when the current caught wind that went away
Day to Day:
-Lead quality has deteriorated the last few months but usually depends on what tier you're in
-Expect to take 250-300+ calls a day depending how driven you are
-Leadership is made up of previous Debt Consultant's who were good on the phones (or at least had a good month when they were hiring). A lot don't have previous leadership experience, Don't expect to get much help, support, development from your leader.
-You're working to either move up tiers or maintain your spot in your current tier
Income/Commission:
-Base pay is $16/hr. Expect about $960 every 2 weeks
-Commission is again tier based. You get 6% of your total enrolled debt ($600 for every $100,000 enrolled). I would say $600 for every 10 sales. Healthy expectation would be $1,000-$1,500 in commission per month starting out with the potential to maybe bump that up to $2,000-$2,500. (If you can keep climbing tiers that can increase)
Other:
-This is a "figure it out yourself" type role. Front-line leadership seems to lack the skills to actually develop their teams. They will hold you accountable to metrics all while having nothing to show in ways of contribution to right the ship.
-Sr. leadership seems blind/deaf to feedback from their front-line team
-Career Advancement is not a thing here. Your resume might as well be a blank piece of paper. Several qualified candidates have been turned down simply due to a bad month
-Leadership is toxic. On several occasions I have personally observed leaders talking negatively about talking condescendingly about individuals on their team or their team as a whole on the sales floor
Word of advice: Apply for the loan side of the business. That's where they're pouring all of their money into right now (that and AI)
