Pros

On site cafe (overpriced but convenient) New Employee Orientation is fun Fantastic medical benefits and 401k match Income opportunity (Former)

Cons

Incompetent or unethical leadership (Hard to tell when they play dumb) Fleeting income opportunity Unrealistic accountability standards and expectations Blatant favoritism Deceit Degrading income opportunity. Income this year is expected to project at about 60-70% of last year on a heightened work-output expectation, even though ur business is greatly benefited by a pandemic The competition is outpacing our growth, which was our only competitive advantage (The company's leverage to negotiate because of sheer volume) There has been a longstanding complaint about compensation for management positions. Instead of increasing their manager's pay, they have decreased what a salesperson can make so that the income drop to take a promotion would not be as drastic. Max income opportunity now, $120-150 for less than 10% of the sales floor. Average will be around $45k for sales

Pros

It doesn't surprise me that there is a glowing review from most hourly employees. This company caters to a fun environment and low-cost benefits that meet their needs. The new campus is also very nice. I do believe they care about their employees.

Cons

Like I said in the "pros" section, the company does seem to care about their employees, but they certainly don't know how to GROW their employees. Mid-level to senior leader jobs are almost never hired into from within, despite that being what is told to candidates when hired. You must either be friends or former colleagues with a few key people to get hired into a senior leadership role. And, you must also be male. Their most senior leaders are ALL male, but for the head of HR. There isn't one female leader at the VP or above level. It's often discussed as the "boy's club," which is unfortunate because diversity offers a strategic advantage. A “best places to work” company should be doing better than this and leading the way in closing the gender inequity gap. I was somewhat amused reading the post by HR from January 2019 (scroll down). Indeed, some of that is very true, especially the fun events part, but what they don't tell you is that the 401k only matches at 50% and the company match pays in once a year (forget earning interest), and it does not vest for three full years, not even partially. And the 3% they will match is abysmally low relative to other companies. Vacation time is NOT competitive. 2 weeks of vacation plus a week of sick is no longer the norm or even close to being able to manage a work/life balance. Unlike what the HR post says, schedules are not flexible and working from home isn't supported. This company has quite a bit of growing up to do.

Pros

Free lunch once a month Limited micro management in this company Some good people Decent location

Cons

Middle Management thinks too highly of themselves and act like children openly in the office environment. Some have serious anger issues; some just are very rude too others. Sense of entitlement is very strong and impedes professionalism. Executives turn a blind eye to childish behavior and they justify the office dysfunction. Kitchen was not even stocked with basic things like napkins and cups. I am pretty sure this is silicon valley.

Thanks for taking the time to submit a review, it's always valuable for us to receive the candid feedback. As a former teammate, you were familiar with the senior leadership structure and the openness and transparency that we strive to foster. In this case, it'd have been helpful to have gotten this feedback earlier, so that we could address the behavior you mention. That's certainly not the norm and inconsistent with the environment that we work hard to promote, of consideration and support for our teammates. We certainly are not perfect, but we are committed to the highest level of respect and professionalism and regret we did not have an opportunity to address your concerns earlier.
