Pros

If you want a place to become a better teacher in a short amount of time this is a good place to be. You are paired with a coach who observes you weekly and gives you feedback based on his/her observations. At times you may also video tape some of your lessons so that both you and your coach may reflect on your performance in the classroom. Another pro is having a positive school culture in which kids are provided with the support that they need in order to do well behaviorally so that they may then have time to focus on learning.

Cons

l have worked at other schools, but never one where there is such a heavy focus on adult culture. Although there may be good intentions behind the focus in this area it may at sometimes cause for people to feel uncomfortable. It may at times seem like you are supposed to be following the norms that have been set by the organization and there is little to no input on that.
