Pros

Amazing students - you will develop amazing connections with them. They are brilliant, hardworking and extremely capable. Provided resources - lessons are written, leaving teachers with the task of intellectual preparation.

Cons

Inequitable pay for minorities and women Work-life balance is nonexistent Management is unprofessional Teachers are not appropriately trained to support minority students Unprofessional behavior from teachers and administrators when interacting with families and students.

Pros

I learned the basics of teaching here: how to be organized, lesson planning, and classroom management.

Cons

After about 2 years, I couldn't expand my skillset because the model for teaching was one size fits all. There wasn't room for teacher creativity and or decision making.
