Pros

Good training for new teachers.

Cons

Overworked, loong, long days. Expectation is that this is your entire life. "Lean in" is an understatement for the ages! Bullying between staff, impossible expectations, feels like kids are just a data point. No support, protection, or advocacy for LGBTQ students. Exhausting. Appartently in the early days they had great success. (THey also had class sizes half of what they are now)

Pros

*the network is inclusive and warm *strong professional development *smart network ops team *collaborative environment *good pay

Cons

If you are considering a position at a school, make sure you have a very clear understanding of who the school leader is and their track record with their staff (particularly the Ops team… how they are treated by their principal says a lot about the culture there). Here are a few highlights. *My principal is often very unkind to me, LT and the Ops staff. When reported, it fell on deaf ears. *My principal has favorites (staff members) and would treat them differently. *My principal would send LT to do their dirty work and would get involved only to deliver good news. *My principal was known for being difficult to work with and often made staff members cry if they made a trivial mistake. *No one at the network checks this particular principal’s behavior which has allowed a pretty toxic culture to fester at this particular school.
