Pros

Convenient hours. Decent benefits if you can get full time.

Cons

Where to begin. No raises. Insufficient mileage reimbursement. Have to warehouse promotional materials and other items needed to do the job in your residence. Lots of changing objectives and procedures which aren't communicated very well. Company doesn't listen to its employees input even when they ask them for it. The few bonuses received were early in my employment and were in the form of gift cards from vendors, not the company - which were then taxed in my paycheck. No overtime allowed. Unrealistic expectations. Eliminates teams whose work gets given to another team in addition to what they already are doing but given no additional time or compensation for the extra responsibility.

Company is a mess...

Pros

And it’s getting messier. Avoid. Benefits were decent for FT but every year they declined in actual value. Very few employees get FT, and even if they hire you for FT, they can take it away without notice. I saw many such instances, and other nasty stuff. My particular bosses were very nice, but there was another boss in the area who was the worst—absolute worst, and Acosta never did anything. The original schedule flexibility that was a positive isn’t the way it is now. They mess with scheduling stores & territories all the time. You can be assigned to drive long distances with meager compensation.

Cons

You will never, and I mean never, get a pay raise. No COLA or anything. No incentives worth mentioning, and if they do have a contest, and you are a ‘winner’, they will ‘lose’ results, and good luck collecting. This company is on the downside, and like others have said, ‘this is the company you work for until you can find something else’. Communication from the top down sucks. They will tell you something and even if they put it in email, if they change their minds and even admit a mistake, you’re the loser. The right hand seldom knows what the left hand is doing. They mail you boxes & boxes of promo stuff and expect you to keep it at your house and drag it around for long periods. Do you like working at Walmart? If so, you should work for Walmart; there are pay increases there and they start at about what Acosta pays (which will never increase) If you don’t like working at Walmart, you shouldn’t work for Acosta. Either way, you’re really a Walmart ‘employee’. You’ll just be in a worse position working for Acosta. Acosta has other clients than Walmart, but Walmart drives their ship. Young talent isn’t attracted to this company because they can’t pay enough. Older employees don’t budge because they can’t find other jobs. Company is stale and lackluster, trying to compete in a fast changing retail environment. They take company-wide surveys but never tell employees the results. There’s a lot of unhappy campers.
