They Don’t Care

Pros

-My immediate coworkers and manager are lovely and most are great at what they do -Pretty advanced tech and a decent vision -Nice fringe perks like unlimited PTO and Calm app subscription

Cons

-Leadership is driving this thing into the ground. When I started here 4 years ago the Glassdoor rating was better because the COMPANY was better. Change was constant back then too, but it was better planned for and supported. For the past two years leadership has kept shuffling and restructuring, which of course makes it hard to service clients. Then when revenue got hit, everyone but leadership was blamed. The CEO gave everyone in the home office a paternalistic talking to in a town hall about how it was our fault, we should feel bad, and we should “look within” (he even provided mirrors under each seat!) to fix the company. Just a month or two ago we had mass layoffs. Now, despite most of us being fully remote since being hired in the last 5 years, and our department constantly getting praised for productivity and quality of work, the entire IT department is being forced to “return” to offices. The FAQ released with the directive to address legitimate concerns was a huge FU, we don’t care about you or your needs. Personally my closest office is a 3+ hour daily commute, meaning I had to immediately start looking for a new job when the memo was released. Leadership is really doing everything possible to make it look like they’re “fixing things” without taking any responsibility for their choices or the lives they’re upturning here. -Internally, things are a mess. People are quitting daily and not being replaced. I’ve had multiple producers at agencies in the last year tell me they’ve been missing commission payouts for 9+ months because accounting can’t get things figured out. For some reason they’re still acquiring new agencies despite nothing working with the book of business they already have. -Benefits are somewhat expensive, I’m paying almost twice as much here for medical insurance as I did at my previous company, for a worse plan. Compensation is getting less good each year, they do not really provide raises for performance or cost of living. My salary is a whole 1% higher now than it was when I was hired 4 years ago.

Improvements on culture and leadership

Pros

Hybrid working, local amenities in area, friendly staff. Benefits have improved since under Acrisure

Cons

Company at times conflicts with evolving from independent broker to now Acrisure - culture lacks professionalism at times and lax dress code with some managers not empowered or trained to deal with constructive feedback and setting the tone, You have to jump through a lot of hoops and politics to encourage changes within the business and is very top heavy. High staff turnover with delayed or at times no communication/updates which impacts teams and most importantly clients who arent told on time and having to back peddle. Work life balance not encouraged as workload is so high with poor training (on the time) not structured.
