Pros

Decent entry level position for college grads with a work hard play hard culture that takes it to the extreme. Some of the people are really great.

Cons

Extremely toxic work culture that starts from the top. Directors show clear favoritism with certain people. Some of the worst recruiters / account managers I have ever worked with (Fairfax and DMV). Put up with business “partners” purposefully trying to get you in trouble despite being true HR issues. Management only ever looks the other way because they make the company and directors money. Toxicity spans to disrespect around mental health to the point where you feel shame around struggling mentally because you can’t meet insane unrealistic goals. President changes his mind all the time and sets unrealistic ideas around what’s manageable in the market (less % for DPs and only 100% if you are at 30%). Absolutely no career growth because if you do get promoted you’re expected to do twice the work for barely any more money. They will demote quickly if you can’t meet metrics. When someone tells you the grass is greener after leaving, believe them.

Toxic, trashy and turbulent

Pros

Your peers are great. Mostly fresh college kids who have no idea what work really is like.

Cons

Oof. Let’s start with the 20 sick and personal days combined. I had COVID this year, and was forced to use 7 of those days right off the bat. You receive only 6 holidays, and on Christmas Eve, Black Friday, etc you are encouraged to hit your call number because “people are home and should be answering the phones.” You have a goal everyday of 40-60 attempted contacts (pending your managers mood), 5 submittals and one start a week. This company gives you 13 weeks to get you up and readily trained for your evaluation and if you’re not hitting 50 buckets you’re basically canned. It’s very archaic. They threaten you with noncompetes and when you give your notice beg you to stay. This company thrives on referrals so you have an internal connection to that person. I had two leads on management leave the same day because of toxic work environment. Everyone is sadly catty and talks down about people who leave. Unfortunately, it is a boys club. Crying in the office is applauded because “you care”. 50-60 hour weeks at minimum. Management threatens you left and right about hitting your numbers.

Pros

If you are just starting to build your career, the pay here is decent.

Cons

The turnover is bad at this company. A lot of people either leave or get fired. Rarely does anyone stay at the company longer than 1-3 years. They will overwork you here. Personally, the lack of work life balance affected my mental health tremendously. When I was hired, I was told I would be working 40 hours a week, but when I started working it was actually a minimum of 50 hour. But you'll probably be working more than 50 hours still, because of their unrealistic goals. They expect so much from you that it doesn't even fit into a 10 hour day. Not to mention, they will be on you about hitting these goals if you don't hit them. So unless you love spending most of your life working even your personal time and love working in a very fast paced environment, I recommend not working here. Also, one of the managers would make inappropriate/rude comments from time to time. It made me and others uncomfortable. Lastly, they lack a diverse team. The majority of the team is Caucasian.
