Pros

They take employee compensation seriously, high expectations for high reward. PTO is generous to start and goes up every year, good 401K match. CEO and senior management are reachable by the rank and file. Communication is the best I have seen in federal contractor. Focus is on the customer.

Cons

Get ready for your email inbox to never be empty, and say goodbye to some of your weekends.

Pros

Reasonable benefits package and salaries. Nothing fabulous, but certainly within industry norms in DC. The company does have get-togethers to build team spirit.

Cons

There are several issues that will hinder the company from moving forward. They tend to be be cheap when it comes to investing in people. Rather than focusing on how to build a great team, they would rather make people take personal leave to get trained. While they did increase the the amount of money for training last year, it's still not enough to cover the big-ticket items that would enhance their stable. Given that the company gets to claim that they have specific skills on board, and apply them to their customers, one would think that this would be viewed as a priority for employees, rather than penalizing them. Their choice, but it just seems like a short-sighted approach. Again as a money issue, they aren't investing in their own back-office infrastructure. This can slow down both recruiting and proposal work. Time to put some money into the daily nuts and bolts stuff. They need a developer to bring their in-house web-based environment up to speed--it's really a mess.
