Invaluable experience

Pros

Action Ambulance gives EMTs the opportunity to get 911 experience right away. Once you’re hired on, they’ll throw you right into the thick of things to either sink or swim. It’s a very “trial by fire” way of going about things, but it’s a great way to weed out the people who shouldn’t be here in the first place.

Cons

Not everyone has what it takes.

Opportunities to prove yourself

Pros

My favorite thing about the job was that they start you working on emergency calls from day 1. Some people sink, some people swim, but either way you are given the opportunity every single day to prove yourself. It’s intense, but you’ll be a stronger person by the time you’re done here.

Cons

I decided to make a career change, otherwise I would still be here.
