Salary and Benefits are good but could use some improvement in the way they run things
Pros
Salary and Benefits are good relative to the field. Regular raises, good medical and dental benefit, 401K etc. Good support from the admin.
Cons
I've worked in smaller schools that have payed less and compared to those, Action Day's large atmosphere makes things a little to "corporate" compared to to the smaller school. For example, they over-enroll some of the classrooms so there are days when they shuffle kids to meet licensing requirements. The playgrounds are also not always located in proximity to the classrooms: we have to herd the children through playgrounds belonging to much older kids to get them to our classroom's playground. When I worked for a much smaller center, there were only 30 kids present in the entire school at once and all 3 classrooms were in earshot of each others and directly accessed the playground so there was much more a "homey" feel. There was also much more flexibility and openness even though the pay was less.
