Pros

Salary and Benefits are good relative to the field. Regular raises, good medical and dental benefit, 401K etc. Good support from the admin.

Cons

I've worked in smaller schools that have payed less and compared to those, Action Day's large atmosphere makes things a little to "corporate" compared to to the smaller school. For example, they over-enroll some of the classrooms so there are days when they shuffle kids to meet licensing requirements. The playgrounds are also not always located in proximity to the classrooms: we have to herd the children through playgrounds belonging to much older kids to get them to our classroom's playground. When I worked for a much smaller center, there were only 30 kids present in the entire school at once and all 3 classrooms were in earshot of each others and directly accessed the playground so there was much more a "homey" feel. There was also much more flexibility and openness even though the pay was less.

Pros

First and foremost, the owner of the company is super involved - wants the best for the children in our care, so in turn wants the best for us - happy teachers, happy children. If I'm ever having a struggle with a child in my class, my supervisor is very supportive of me, offering suggetions, support, intervention, etc. We work closely with the families to get over the bumps along the way. Love our program - super exciting watching the kids develop and grow throughout the year

Cons

My co-worker was promoted to a management position - great for her for sure, and I still get to see her on a daily basis, but required that a new teacher work with me. We are great now, but there was a bit of a learning curve.
