From 2007 or so on, it was a fun and growing company with a great set of collaborative people.

... Then, the Dark Side took over around late 2011 and into 2012, being the new upper management. After a rare take-private deal, then a sale to a Vulture Capitalist (errr.... excuse me... Private Equity Firm)... the new overlords decided to whittle away the San Diego office as they made their move to Dallas, purely for the tax breaks. That, plus increasing of the engineering work to off-shore (e.g. China), made the remaining year there rather painful.
