      Entire team destroyed inside of a year

      Laid back environment, good co-workers.

      Cons

      My third boss in a year never introduced himself - the first time they responded to me was acknowledging my resignation letter. The team I was on, in one of the most profitable divisions, had their work sent overseas and were benignly neglected (the members all finally caught on and moved on). Projects were delayed due to bureacratci in-fighting, then we were told to deliver according to the original timetable, even though the start date was MONTHS later than planned.

      Good company, just acquired by a venture capital firm

      Pros

      Generally good technology and good people. The company provides useful services (registering for running or other events, etc.) Informal, friendly culture.

      Cons

      Recent acquisition is already causing a bit of a brain drain... Not many folks seem to have a positive opinion of the senior management team. Company seemed to have a problem turning success into real profits.

      Interesting and fun place to work

      Pros

      Fairly mature platform services to build applications on, smart people to work with yet very informal atmosphere, exciting environment to work in, nice office perks, ability to work at least some at home, friendly people, no dress code (workout gear perfectly acceptable for developers), ActiveX (an in-house program to provide a physical/mental outlet through fitness), employee stock purchase plan is pretty good

      Cons

      Active is perhaps not the best at implementing Agile, at least not on the team I work with. So they tend to carry over too many stories instead of focusing and designing stories that can be done in a sprint. I think the pay could also be better.
