Massive layoffs

Pros

Work life balance, decent PTO and other benefits, very smart employees

Cons

Poor planning when expanding the workforce. Tons of positions have been eliminated due to a large revenue gap the company is experiencing due to loss of business. People who were hired even 6 months to a year ago have been laid off and left with no job or way to pay for their families. The entire IT department has been wiped out. And there has been a hiring freeze for MONTHS. Also most employees who quit are not able to be replaced leaving departments with VERY high workloads.

Pros

The Chantilly office was great. Organized, processes identified and followed. Product releases were successful and the clients were pleased.

Cons

As leadership transitioned to NY, nothing but chaos, rudeness and unprofessional behavior. Although great career growth years prior to the NY transition, no regrets on leaving after experiencing the lack of leadership in NY. Before the transition to NY I could have worked there for years.

Pros

The company that L. Reisman developed over a decade ago had excellent core values, management that were not afraid to roll up their sleeves, and a vision on how to improve healthcare for millions. Some of that remains today. Quality clinical products despite poor job conditions.

Cons

ActiveHealth is a challenge to work at because there is a significant lack of direction, quality over-site, and executive leadership. Generally, staff experience, poor company moral, lack of job security, and a general feeling that upward mobility is almost impossible as Activehealth frequently hires from outside as opposed to promoting from within. Recurrent mass lay-offs and position elimination/downsizing.
