Upper management hoards decision making rather than delegating and growing employee talent.
Hiring process is focused more on personality and grades than evaluating actual fits for teams and desired skillsets. Often leads to hiring unqualified people into roles at times.
The way raises are distributed causes them to be very flat across the board which does not encourage or reward stronger work much.
C-Suite level decision making does not include or evaluate the employee-base's opinions. More of a "look what we do for you" type of feel to it. Suggestions routinely dismissed.
Outside of the core insurance related departments, the roles and company structure is a little old fashion due to a lack of keeping up with tech/marketing/branding/product type company leaders.
