      Research company with overworked staff at critical point

      Pros

      - Opportunity to work on great projects that make a difference - opportunity to work with great peers and build lifelong friendships due to youthfulness of company - great way to build responsibilities and transferrable skills for those interested in data science or public policy directions - great way to get management experience earlier than what you would get in other companies

      Cons

      - I thought the company was trying to improve retention rate, but I don't think so anymore. It's a problem. People across different teams and departments are dropping like flies, especially senior levels. - Poor management with overworked directors leading to excessive delegating to mid-level managers - delusional directors that view people as replaceable - only new hires are for DPA I positions, when there should be more that are hired at the Policy Associate or Policy Lead level - 2016 has become a critical year for company, Its organizational structure and employee bench are at volatile point

      Pros

      Good job to get right after graduation to start your career. The location is amazing. Friendly people in this organization

      Cons

      The jobs at Acumen LLC are not so well paid. There is not much scope for growth in this company.

      Pros

      Everyone is nice. On top of that, they're generally intelligent and professional. I can only speak for my team though. Ample parking at all times. Good serene views of the bay.

      Cons

      The chairs could be better? There isn't a lot of open space due to the long hallway/horseshoe layout of the office.
