Being able to work the hours that I do work. Able to work from home in bad weather. Having a great Supervisor and President. Working with most of the people.

Cons

Pros

I am so proud to work for my local newspaper. I'm also very proud that our ad team has hit goal most months, and that we've been able to grow our editorial staff in my time here. Also, I'm pleased to attend events on the Daily Times' behalf, such as the chamber of commerce dinners & Job fairs etc.

Cons

I'd like to see better customer service for our subscribers. They often come in to our office and feel quite frustrated. "Please call our number, Dial 1 and wait for them to call back" isn't much help for someone willing to come down to our office to get help.

Pros

I've been with Adams for years (having taken a few years off from journalism just to see if I wanted to try something else, and journalism was it for me). I began when they acquired the newspapers from ACM in 2014, left in 2018 and returned in 2021. The advancement opportunities are great (being an editor as well as reporter is my favorite part, along with meeting people and new opportunities). I feel like it's a family here.

Cons

Sometimes communication on special products such as magazines, special sections and other publications gets a bit muddle on the advertising side and suddenly we have a deadline coming up asap. I'm usually able to work with that, but a month beforehand is preferable for a deadline, and sometimes we only hear two or one week before.
