Pros

Pay is pretty good, holidays off, not too stressful.

Cons

Recently this credit union has begun to act like a bank. It expects a high demand in sales with little to no training on the products you are supposed to be referring. Upper management is unprofessional as they enjoy gossip and have even been known to hold employees accountable for things they say or do in their personal life. Employees are treated as just a number and management condescendingly wish employees "good luck finding something better elsewhere".

Good company/Great Potential

Pros

The starting pay is very competitive. The company tries to always promote from within. The company encourages continuing your education; they have reimbursement programs. The company is definitely growing. Great benefits for employees. The CEO is great at resolving issues. If there are any issues I would definitely approach him and be honest. He is not like any CEO I have ever met. He's a very kind man but definitely business/goal orientated.

Cons

Depending on which department you are in, it is very hard to move it. It's all who you know you move up quickly. Raises aren't the best. The branches have become very sales driven which is not what credit unions are known for but it seems like that is happening to all credit unions. Benefits are not the best for your family. There are people in management positions that do not belong. They become comfortable and not the best. Some are intimidated if you know more than them. These are people that have been with the company 10+ year.
