Pros

Decent benefits and pay for the industry. If you prefer to work in small, intimate teams this environment is for you (if you don't play well with others, you will hate your life). In my location, I'm not overly micromanaged - as long as the work gets done and the customers are served, I have some freedom to optimize my workday as I see fit. However, this is likely to change. If you want to develop customer service, financial management, and accuracy skills, you stand to learn a lot.

Cons

Unreasonable sales quotas, unfair treatment of many employees (demotions for no reason!), customers are often stressful and sometimes nightmarish because they're dealing with difficult financial situations. Upper management can be very two-faced and whatever you do, don't believe you'll be anonymous if you complain. The 401K is a joke - get a savings account. Prepare to be treated like you are scum by customers, the public, and even your family - although short-term lending is NOT loan-sharking and is strictly regulated, a new hire bank teller fresh out of high school will be given more respect than you.

Great Benefits; No Consistency

Pros

Pay is good. The job is not difficult. Good co workers. Time off is really great, two weeks vacation, three personal days, and sick time.

Cons

There is no consistency from center to center or division to division. RDOs are not involved other than stopping by centers to point out things that are wrong. High expectations to increase numbers in dead areas. You start to feel like a loan shark after awhile.
