      Pros

      Great company to work for! Competitive pay, raises accordingly, close working relationships. Recognition opportunities to help employees feel appreciated. Regional managers stay in close contact with their sites and you have multiple contacts for any issues or questions that arise.

      Cons

      There are not really any downsides to the company itself. Some issues with finding nursing staff but that is public misconception of correctional nursing not a reflection of the company! SO APPLY!!! You do have to enjoy and thrive in the area of autonomy because in some sites you will likely be the only nurse on duty BUT that's after adequate training and you have multiple people to contact for questions and concerns.

      Corrections is different than primary care, but this company educates and supports it's staff to ease the transition.
