Technical Service Engineer - Allen Park, Mi
Pros
The job pays fairly well and they offer benefits. Centrally located to the metro Detroit area. Other than that, not much.
Cons
Where to begin! I am writing this in hopes I can save someone else from making the same mistake I did. During your interview they will fluff the position to high heaven! They tell you how many friends you will make and how much fun you will have with them. What they don't tell you is the level of disrespect and micromanagement that comes from the management staff. You can get split into one of 6 different groups including body, chassis, power train, gas, diesel, or module programming. You will then have a 6-7 week training process to prepare you for the job. During this time, don't expect to ever have any personal time whatsoever. The days were scheduled down to the minute, often times you only get a 15 or 20 minute lunch break due to the severely overbooked schedule. They preach ONEFORD values during the training, but you are met with quite the opposite of that once you are taking live contacts. Management and SME's are very condescending and talk down to you if you have a question on something. But if you don't consult with them, you get yelled at for not consulting. The benefits are outlandishly expensive. You get pretty much no paid time off. They also make you work late nights and weekends. If you want to make a mediocre salary and get abused everyday you go into work. Then this is the place for you.
