Pros

Adventist Medical Center is a fantastic place to work. Executive leadership is committed to both excellence in the care we provide to patients and to employee satisfaction. Additionally AMC seems to genuinely care about the physical, mental and spiritual health of employees.

Cons

We're occasionally heavy on the meetings but I see leadership trying to fix that.

Mission Driven, but money focused.

Pros

I agree with the Mission that drives Adventist Health. Compensation is fairly consistent with market-rates and depending on your department time off can be fairly flexible.

Cons

Training can be lacking, overuse of meetings that don't accomplish much, money focused leads to short sighted policies that hurt employees.

Pros

Like I mentioned, the employees there are fantastic. They really are like family. One of the main reasons I stayed as long as did (over 10 years) was because of the people.

Cons

it was difficult to move up if you in administration if you were not Adventist and by Adventist, I mean you did not tithe in the church.

Thank you for your feedback. Adventist Medical Center is part of a broader system of hospitals and clinics under Adventist Health. Our organizational history and culture is closely connected to the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Tithe is a common personal choice by those who are members of the Church but Adventist Health keeps no record of who tithes and does not have access to that information. We are proud to hire and promote leaders from a variety of backgrounds. We have thorough selection process to help us identify the best overall fit for a role and the organization. Important considerations include relevant experience, education, credentials, and ability to develop others while fostering our unwavering commitment to advancing our mission, values, and standards. If you have further concerns, would like additional clarifications or would like to discuss our hiring process, please contact me. Shane Voshell, Director of Human Resources – HRDept@ah.org
