Pros

Team :Leads (managers) assign projects and allow you to work them- very little micromanagement; great sense of community; maintaining a healthy life is important and promoted; although associated with the Adventist church, their beliefs are not pushed upon you. Resources needed to complete tasks are plentiful.

Cons

Although management's ability to make you feel like your services are beneficial to the company, yearly reviews and pay structure are in need or rework. Yearly evaluations are broken down to several factors and are rated in several quartiles- bad to extremely well. Although I continue to excel in my duties and receive highest marks on reviews, I tend to receive merely a $.75/per hour raise, which is a similar pay raise to those assigned and performing at a sub-par levels of work. Also, your ability to promote within the company has less to do with your performance and more to do with your ability to network with management. Because of this, a lot of the work assigned to those in a higher position gets taken away and reassigned to those in lower ranking positions, which also has a lot to do with the high turnover rate seen at AH.

Pros

You will get great work experience that will advance your career once you leave.

Cons

Unless you have ties to the church, don't bother trying to have any management or upper management position. Moral seems to be at an all-time low across the board. It’s hard watching unqualified individuals get huge pay bumps and quick advancements because they or their family is affiliated with the Adventist Church. There is a HUGE disconnect between the corporate office and the sites. Pay is below average for most workers. You will have carrot dangled in front of you for years. After meeting or beating every expectation, you are given excuses about how your raise or desired position is not in the budget. Meanwhile, management is getting HUGE pay bumps and bonuses. Management getting pay bumps wouldn’t be such an issue, if they weren’t in spite of their many failures. If you are part of the “in crowd”, mistakes don’t matter. Neither do job requirements. There are a number of persons, with management titles, that don’t have degrees. If you are not in that crowd, they want advanced degrees, certifications, and years of experience. At half the pay…

Pros

Healthcare Experience, Nice hardware (Tablets, Laptops, Modern Software)

Cons

Company uses low tier job titles so that they match pay to a title not a job description, managers don't actually care about work/life balance (50+ hour workweeks), no advancement if you're not Adventist, no cost of living increases, deceptive practices from management (misinformation given during chatting over chocolate), understaffed for critical system (information security), one security breach away from a HIPPA disaster, healthcare with no real healthcare insurance, disconnect of C-level from Working employees, not enough bathrooms, punishment for taking time off.
