Pros

Like I mentioned, the employees there are fantastic. They really are like family. One of the main reasons I stayed as long as did (over 10 years) was because of the people.

Cons

it was difficult to move up if you in administration if you were not Adventist and by Adventist, I mean you did not tithe in the church.

Thank you for your feedback. Adventist Medical Center is part of a broader system of hospitals and clinics under Adventist Health. Our organizational history and culture is closely connected to the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Tithe is a common personal choice by those who are members of the Church but Adventist Health keeps no record of who tithes and does not have access to that information. We are proud to hire and promote leaders from a variety of backgrounds. We have thorough selection process to help us identify the best overall fit for a role and the organization. Important considerations include relevant experience, education, credentials, and ability to develop others while fostering our unwavering commitment to advancing our mission, values, and standards. If you have further concerns, would like additional clarifications or would like to discuss our hiring process, please contact me. Shane Voshell, Director of Human Resources – HRDept@ah.org

Pros

Nice location. Employees friendly.

Cons

Administration team over paid and over rated. Secretive management team recluses into their offices instead of being visible and accessible to work team. Lowest paying hospital in the Bay Area. Treat employees more as a liability than an asset. Administration pinches pennies from staff with low pay and benefits cuts while enjoying fat salaries and perks. Dishonest administration. Human Resources team work more as a risk management for the hospital than employee resource.
