Pros

If you're in need of an answer for future interview to "can you tell me about a difficult experience you had at work?" you could fill the entire interview.

Cons

Too many to count. It's such a toxic work environment I'm still working through the trauma. Don't let their job descriptions fool you. If you're in brand you may do some marketing, but you will also be doing supply chain, warehouse labor, regulatory, legal, and more. Someone might tell you "no one has an ego here." That is a lie. CEO will raise his voice to you if the business doesn't perform. They don't care you. They don't care about diversity, equity, and inclusion, and if you bring things like this up, you'll likely be told you're too woke. The office is ugly and outdated, as are the policies. You will get 10 paid time off days, but that will include sick leave. If you want to take a vacation, you better stay healthy. All they care about is profit. They will raise prices on consumers over and over, they will cut corners, reduce cost all the expense of the product. Not staffed for the workload across any department. I could go on, but my heart rate is spiking thinking about working there. Do. Not. Work. Here.

Pros

If you are local to Littleton, ARB is centrally located. Outside of the marketing team, it seems there is strong cohesion around members of the team that are working in the warehouse and production lines.

Cons

My experience at ARB was a poor one to say the least. Starting with the onboarding process, there is little to no formal onboarding structure. I simply received an email with links to various shared drive folders with no guidance or instruction on when/how/why to utilize these tools. The VP of Marketing that leads the core group of ABMs even commented in my first few weeks how she had neglected to provide adequate assistance during a peak time of her own workload, but did no follow up at any point when things slowed down in her own workload. SOPs are unclear to say the least, and daily tasks has little to no formal procedures to follow to ensure proper execution. ARB considers themselves a data driven organization however they do not have any sort of data visualization tools and are reliant on the execution of manual uploads into antiquated tools that opens up room for errors across users and versions and filters. Leadership indicates growth opportunities within the marketing structure however there is little to know definition on how to grow within the organization. Skip Level/Level up feedback is nonexistant and 1:1 sessions lack any sort of critical feedback on how to improve/grow in your role. My personal feeling is that a limited candidate pool has forced the CMO to become reliant on their VP of Marketing to be a single point of failure who is not interested in properly delegating meaningful tasks to their team in an effort to create a streamlined work environment. The VP lacks soft skills to drive engagement within the team and openly speaks down to other members of the team across departments. In one instance, I wanted to recognize a team member for their efforts in assisting my onboarding and I was told their impacts were not relevant and shouldn't consider their work as providing meaningful impact. Additionally, this VP openly speaks down about other employees regarding their level of education, professional backgrounds and other character traits that are not aligned with her own background (on one occasion she spoke about an employee indicating "well, they only have a high school education so keep that in mind."
