Nervous for our future

Pros

Advia CU is a wonderful place to work. Overall, there is comradery and cooperation amongst teams leading to our success as an organization.

Cons

The CEO recently announced her retirement and the hunt for a new leader is among us. It is known that three current executives are in the running for CEO. I do fear for the organization if one of those executives is chosen. The current CFO is not a great collaborator and is known for micro-managing. Worse, he seeks to find someone to blame when situations don't go his way. We need a leader who will help further bring us together, and not drive us further into silos. I hope the board makes the right call on this one...

Pros

The PTO time earned and 401k match are a definite plus. For the most part, there were good coworkers to work with. The training was very intense but the trainers are fantastic people. During training, there is a lot of emphasis on having empathy with members.

Cons

Cold calling, poor and pushy management, and there is A LOT to be learned on both the sales and service side. If you are in a slow branch, there will be strong emphasis on making a lot of phone calls trying to get a member to agree to a loan of some sort or a credit card. FSS's, no matter how busy of a branch they work in, all have the same goals to make. Additionally, there is an individual in a management role that was looking up employee's personal accounts (mine included) and then discussing those personal transactions with other employees. In my opinion, the negatives outweighed the positives.
