Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. We pride ourselves on our generous time off policies and having flexibility in work schedules so employees can prioritize what is important to them and have a great work/life balance. As far as communication, this is something we can always look to improve. We have two standups each week that we invite the entire company to attend and participate in. We also have regular Townhall meetings with updates from our leadership team.

Pros

High pay for an intern, relaxed dress code, younger employees

Cons

I worked at this company for three semesters while I was in college. After my first semester, I was asked to come back and was placed on a new team. On this new team, a new joiner who was the scrum master sexually harassed me multiple times (on company time and company property). Some examples of this include: -Me messaging him asking what time he's available until, to which he responded with "I'll stay as long as you want bb ;)" -After asking why calendar dates aren't showing up on our application at the correct time, he responded with "I don't know, I'd love to take you out at night instead" -After mentioning that I'm inclined to working with backend applications, he told me "glad to hear that you like backend ;)" -After telling him about a different employee who harassed me via sending me a shirtless pic and telling me that he gets flirty when he drinks vodka, he told me that maybe he should send me a shirtless pic too in order to try to "get me to swing back to men". After reporting these incidents to HR, they took no action other than telling these men not to contact me further. I don't think I've ever experienced a higher level of frustration than when I was forced to come out of the closet to higher ups in order for the impact of his comment to be understood. If you are a woman or LGBT, this workplace will not be friendly to you.

Thank you for your feedback. Advicent takes all claims of harassment extremely seriously and any report of misconduct automatically triggers an internal investigation. As every effort is made to successfully resolve issues of this nature, often times the company cannot share the exact result and what, if any, disciplinary actions were taken. Your comments are not taken lightly. An opinion held by an employee does not reflect the beliefs we hold as a company. Advicent actively encourages conversations around diversity and inclusion to ensure a safe workplace for all employees. We are extremely committed to empowering women in our workplace and have established an employee resource group that is dedicated to helping females advance in their careers.

Pros

You will work with really smart people and learn a lot. Your colleagues will become your best friends. It is in its stages to set up actual release pipelines and join the rest of the world of using a cloud solution to deploy and host software. So if you ever wanted to get on the ground level of the migration to a cloud, you are probably a little late but there is still a lot of work to do.

Cons

You will work really hard building a project where you have minimal input of what it needs to do and with little guidance on what needs to be built. Just that you need to build it and you need to build it fast. Management spent years undermining what their competitors are doing but now that they are in the reactionary state. The career track is pretty much non-existent. Even though its a mid-size company, I'm pretty sure the CTO maybe knows your name but he definitely doesn't know what you do. And that is nothing due to your part, your colleagues will rave about how awesome you are doing while he won't even be on the same floor as any of IT or devs. You can work as hard as you want and can try to ask your manager what it takes to get to the next level but they will only ask for more without specific details even if you already doing much more than what you are paid to do. This was even before the promotion freeze. With the promotion freeze and layoffs, its pretty hard to see that you truly will climb up at the company, which might be okay, but you will be making less than the area average within software development industry. Tech side you will be working with mostly the latest and greatest, but everything is backed by a legacy code that is starting to show its age. Short deadlines will force you work late and make a lot of TODOs.
