Pros

I'm sure it seems fishy, a company with a solid 5-star review. It's all true. From the great perks and benefits to the amazing and brilliant people I work with, Affirm continues to be my best choice to date. The culture here is great and inclusive. Everyone is friendly, willing to share their knowledge and expertise. This is a hardworking group. Better be prepared to get here and start swimming.

Cons

Space is cramped because of the crazy growth, but even that doesn't bother me too much. Lots of changes happening, which is expected.

Pros

Great company culture, and awesome mission. I've had a positive experience here since my first interaction at Affirm. The recruiting and on boarding process was smooth and informative. It is an amazing environment in which you have the opportunity to work with some of the smartest people I've ever met, who are also yet humble. The perks are also great, and lead to the employees being able to spend quality time together. We have catered lunch everyday, and fun company events once a month. The whole community is very supportive and I've learned an incredible amount since I've started. We get the opportunity to attend lunch talks from other employees about what they are working on at Affirm.

Cons

Main issue is that there don't seem to be enough people to do the work. This generally leads to people having to take on more than their position should require. In general though this is somewhat positive because you have the freedom to work on a wide range of things, and with a greater impact. Not enough space. At our current office we are pushing it on space. I know we're working on it, but it does lead to me being distracted and unable to do my work sometimes.

Software Developer

Pros

Affirm engineering is an exceptionally smart group of people, and working here provides for a very intellectual environment. Affirm is particularly great for people who would like to maintain an interest in the more theoretical and academic aspects of computer science and software design and architecture, while at the same time working towards significant social impact.

Cons

If you're looking for a company with very solid infrastructure, developer tooling, and support, then Affirm may not be the place for you. Our entire stack is very much a work in progress and all software developers are encouraged to make contributions across the board.
