Pros

Affirm is a company that stands by it's values, and this message comes from top leadership. The best part is that they don't just say it, they embody every word. Diversity is not just a message from the website. They actively stand by the mission for inclusivity, diversity and they are transparent about the efforts to remain and become more diverse. Asking a company to be flexible, family focused, aware of mental health and it's impact, environmentally responsible, transparent, collaborative, empathetic, nuisanced, equitable, innovative, balanced, non-traditional, communicative, and humane is asking for a Unicorn in an industry full of Ogres. Affirm is that Unicorn.

Cons

Although the message is practiced and communicated from the most Senior leadership Directors, VP's etc. lower management often drops the ball in cultivating the culture that makes Affirm so special. Some lower managers can be stifling, contradictory, indifferent, self seeking and manipulative.

Pros

-Very smart, highly-motivated colleagues who support each other's success rather than purely prioritizing their own success at the expense of others. -This industry is growing like gangbusters and it's very exciting to be part of this company as it continues to have success and grow.

Cons

-Extremely reactive. From the very top down, the company chases the lastest "shiny object" and doesn't maintain any consistent, long term priorities that trickle all the way down. -The main impact of this is that it's very hard to control bandwidth because many projects start as inbound requests that are immediately made priorities.

Pros

WFH, average pay, decent equity though Affirm stock is very volatile, great benefits, good health benefits for when working here starts hurting your mental health

Cons

Toxic toxic toxic managers. Thought it was just mine but seen across teams, also poor collaboration and throwing other teams under the bus for their laziness or taking credit for their work. So very political. PIP culture is Amazon level.
