Pros

The financial industry is a massive and highly competitive space, which makes for a great fast-paced environment. The problems you set out to solve are challenging and large scale. Everyone at Affirm is extremely motivated, collaborative and strives to build great products. The leadership team is one of the best out there and make themselves available to everyone. There is a great level of trust and transparency, and taking ownership is highly encouraged/supported. All in all, it's a group of talent people who enjoy what they do and make for a great company culture. Best place I've worked.

Cons

It's a startup so you'll definitely work hard, but if you love what you do (like the individuals working here) it's a non-issue.

- most engineers are talented and bright - compensation is good - benefits are great - lots to learn

- expected to work on weekends - reorgs happened frequently - didnt have wlb - no psychological safety - team has no comradeship

Great benefits and pay. Remote work is nice and you have the option to go into an office if you live nearby.

Cons

Disorganized leadership. It takes forever to get anything done. I'm frustrated daily on how hard it is to just do my job.
