Pros

AgFirst understands and practices what people first means. They encourage personal and professional growth, and a good work-life balance, and have great benefits.

Cons

The onboarding process could be more streamlined. Some things are automatically done with new team members while others require the supervisor to initiate. Having a standardized checklist could help alleviate and make the new employee transition smoother.

Thank you for sharing your positive experience with us! We agree on the importance of teamwork and its role in creating a supportive workplace atmosphere. Our hybrid work schedule offers flexibility and convenience, while our company headquarters – located in the heart of Columbia – has excellent amenities, including an on-site gym and restaurant. Like most companies, AgFirst’s work cycle ebbs and flows and varies by department. Thank you for being a valuable AgFirst team member.

Pros

After spending several years with larger, mostly impersonal financial institutions, I accepted a contract position with AgFirst Farm Credit Bank – and it was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. Every day I get to work with – and learn from – creative and talented individuals who are always willing to share their knowledge and expertise. AgFirst’s mission – to provide funding and support services to America’s farmers and rural communities – is critically important and, from a communications perspective, extremely interesting. AgFirst’s excellent work culture, hybrid work schedule, supportive management and generous benefits made accepting a full-time position a no-brainer when the opportunity presented itself. And I’ve since learned that AgFirst not only values but also invests in its full-time employees, providing educational and training opportunities that encourages and empowers them to continue their professional development. An excellent company.

Cons

The conversion from contractor to full-time employee was a little rocky but they’re actively working on improving the process.

Thank you for sharing your positive experience and being a valuable member of our AgFirst team! We are thrilled that you enjoy our company’s work culture. Though we are a large bank, we always look to hire – and keep – those individuals who love what they do, work well with others and enjoy sharing their knowledge. As you note, AgFirst has a wonderful and supportive work environment and provides its employees with the best benefits available. We also believe in investing in our employees and encourage them to grow, both personally and professionally. We’re happy that your experience has been a rewarding one and thank you for recognizing that we are now making modifications to improve our contractor-to-full-time-employee transition process. Welcome aboard!
