Pros

Good FTO. Layback culture and they are flexible with work life balance. It’s a good company if you do not want to advance in your career or you don’t have passion for your job.

Cons

The company is old fashioned and leadership is resistant to change. Systems are old and IT department is not choosing cutting edge systems to meet business requirements. It’s a good place to work if you are not looking to advance in your career. Compensation is lower than market.

Pros

The pros make you want to stay forever... great benefits, fun work environment, much respect for their social responsibility and contributions. They make an effort to be relevant and current.

Cons

The cons are if you are one of the unlucky ones to land a bad manager. Some people are just not meant to manage people regardless of all the great self improvement classes offered and I wish HR would take note of that more.

Pros

There are some really great people across IT and when you can develop the relationships across the various organizations within IT, you can get a lot done.

Cons

Communication from management to staff is relatively directive, with managers making decisions with little input from the staff who manage the technology every day. Too much reliance on outside vendors leaves Agilent employees handicapped in knowledge and ability to execute changes within the environment. Lack of documentation exacerbates the above situation, making it difficult to understand the environment within which you are trying to work. Not a lot of room for growth - unless you want to move to management. Due to the fact that so much is outsourced, skills based training is not easy to obtain.
