No direction, too many silos.

Pros

Base salary was competitive. Benefits were good. Had a lot of freedom and independence...no micro management. Good group of co-workers.

Cons

No interaction with other divisions to work as a team. Too many silos. Operations group was poorly trained and lacked urgency. IBM division had too many good old boys at the executive level. Poor management and communication. Kept poor performers and laid off ones that were generating revenue. No support from management.

Pros

-company offers a diversified range of products and services which requires a wide variation of individual talents -employees seem to be interested in supporting one another, similar to a good family atmosphere -company does well at developing new technology solutions while maintaining support of their customer’s legacy systems -it’s nice to work at a company with a “solutions” oriented approach to help customers, not simply out to make a quick profit

Cons

-401K match is on temporary hold -Health Care benefits could be better / less expensive

Pros

Highly motivated sales force works hard to win the business. Technically competent engineers with a good mix of experience and training. Benefits are average for this size company.

Cons

Communication is almost non-existent. Group conference calls were held once a week, but otherwise you shouldn't expect to hear much from your manager. Expectations of employees are sometimes not clear, and other times are far outside of reasonable.
