Pros

Good pay and decent benefits Good extras like stock purchase matching, benefits for fitness, language courses Some very intelligent managers with good leadership skills

Cons

Hiding behind good pay to create a sense of "Agnico the Good" 60+ years of distance from reality, they only see what they choose to see Racism, nepotism, ageism (and that goes both ways), cronyism runs rampant The ‘in crowd’ is all French and they are the chosen few who get advancement opportunities; moved around to learn/grow while the small group of experienced workers watch and do the work Takes years to be accepted/trusted (unless you’re French), no career paths in head office – lots of smart people with nowhere to go for years…. New ideas get quashed under ‘that’s not how we do it here’ Bad employees kept because they don’t want to ever let anyone go, believe they need to guarantee people a livelihood even when they are low performers – a huge impact on morale At corporate people are just numbers/headcount - CEO likes to emphasize that and that success is only achieved if you arrive at it the way he did. Stated that not every department is equal – so some groups are just more important than others. They talk about making change, but leaders hide behind what they tout as 'culture' and 'values' as a shield to really seeing what they need to fix and then actually fixing it. Lack of true change is the only constant.

Pros

Really good salary, free food.

Cons

Feels like going in a high school , a lot of clics, Favoritism, bullying, even harassment and racism. Poor management and Poor and lack of good/ professional communication from the human resources people too. No job security at all. Even if you give a strong/ and truthful opinion about something, you are told the opposite. Feels like the company just want to protect their image instead of protecting their workers.

Pros

Salary, Food, Benefits, Nunavut experience, Gym, fly-in, most people. I enjoyed the experience of working with Nunavut people and made many friends across Quebec and the rest of Canada.

Cons

Regulations not important, favoritism and insider hiring. I was framed by management for a false diesel leak spill shortly the mining inspectors arrived on-site. The company will take the cheapest route from what I seen, even if that includes not following reulations or employing the proper trades tickets. Saw high ranking senior management at the mine engage in sexist behavior. Not a place I'd be sending my daughter for a co-op placement. The company always will say the right thing but not necessarily do it. There is a big disconnect between Toronto and the reality in Nunavut.
