Best company I've ever worked for

Pros

-It's clear to see where you're making an impact. The goals of the company and each team are clear and we share progress and challenges on a regular basis with the entire organization. -The people are seriously the nicest I've ever met. My immediate team is wonderful, but I've also built close relationships with people on teams that I normally wouldn't in another company. There is a real sense of inclusion and friendliness. -Benefits and salary are really good. Profit-sharing is always nice at the end of the year and we've had benefits added around increased PTO, volunteer days, and parental and bereavement leave based on feedback employees have given. -Remote work is awesome. We do a really good job of staying connected but you still have plenty of flexibility when you need it.

Cons

-I've heard from some co-workers that they struggle with remote work. I don't have this problem, but I can see how for some people you might miss a typical office environment. I think the pros definitely outweigh the cons, though. -There are some grumblings every once in a while and it seems like some people aren't sure how to vent their frustrations. It feels like negativity sometimes comes in waves from an anonymous person or two, but for the most part the mood is really positive around the company.

Pros

On my very first day, I knew exactly what was expected of me. And not only for that day, but for that week and the upcoming weeks ahead. I had assigned to-dos (we use Aha! to run the business) and was paired with a mentor. It was the most intentional, thoughtful, and productive onboarding experience I've ever had. Along the way, everyone — across all teams and all geographic locations (we are 100% remote) — was extremely welcoming and helpful. Everyone was truly excited that I had joined the company and it was clear that we were all here to build a meaningful, lasting product.

Cons

This is not really a con about the company, but more or less a personal challenge. This is my second remote organization. Everyone is in constant communication across video calls and chat, which is great. In fact, I find that I can do my best work and be more productive in a remote setting. However, I need to remind myself to get out of the house sometimes! It is very easy to grind away in your office and not be around other people for weeks at a time. It is refreshing to spend the morning working from a coffee shop or to drop in at a coworking space — I just need to remind myself of this more.

Pros

- Remote and connected team - Investment in employees with on boarding training and on sites - Team is receptive to suggestions without ego - Always improving - Freedom to get work done - Work that is customer focused with the reasons - High level of transparency

Cons

- On boarding can feel long (mine was five weeks) but well worth it - You might miss that idle chatter of an office but it will pass
