Pros

The single best thing about working at Air Methods was the satisfaction of knowing that everything I did was because of the value the entire line team represented to an individual and their family in possibly saving their lives.

Cons

Leadership is inept due to the fact that there is less than 2% of the corporate leadership had/has never flown the line. They are only concerned with satisfying their shareholders and numbers and spreadsheets are the only metric. Having an attrition rate of greater than 29% is telling enough. People don't leave companies. They leave leadership or the lack there of.

Pros

I received some of the best educational experiences at AMC including yearly cadaver lab training, HPS, regional training, etc. I enjoyed working there, and felt that I received good support as an employee. Good pay.

Cons

Like an corporation, there is a lot of shotgun therapy. Paperwork is overwhelming at times.

Pros

Good entry level pay. Your coworkers and crews are usually awesome. You are making a difference in people's lives.

Cons

Management doesn't care about you. They will work you to death, all while freezing your pay. Favoritism is the only way you can get ahead. The training is lacking. You get so many hours of classroom training and then they put you on the floor with someone who doesn't really want to have you there. The training is not streamlined for individual programs. If you sit with one person one day, they will tell you one thing. A different person will tell you something else. The lead supervisors are only in it for themselves. If they do not like you, they will listen to hours of tapes in order to find one mistake so they can write you up. The place is incestuous. To get promoted you have to be buddies with management and you have to be willing to throw everyone else under the bus. They do not care who the most qualified for the position is, only if you will suck up to management.
