Pros

Genuinely smart and nice people who care about the mission. They really want to do the right thing by their customers, both hosts and guests. Lots of opportunity to grow on the software side if you are a strong performer and execute well. If you completely buy into the culture in all aspects, this will be the best job you ever have.

Cons

There is not a lot of room for dissent, and the organization is aggressively political in nature. There is a heavy emphasis on fitting in and being the part of the "Airbnb culture", and those who don't fit in usually won't last very long. They emphasized diversity in all aspects of the company but thought.

Disorganized chaos

Pros

Amazing food, resource enriched regarding hardware. The co founders and CEO appear to actually care about the company, but unfortunately are blinded by the "big" tech crunch feature.

Cons

Terrible management across various departments. No pathway available for success. EVERYONE IN CX are underpaid and over worked. I've seen really REALLY good people quit or strangely fired from the company. The IT team is a nuthouse with an exception of the two people who don't work there anymore. Such a disappointment.

Poor and ineffective management

Pros

- Good healthy food - Superbly designed office space, esp. conference rooms

Cons

- Inexperienced and clueless managers who rarely spent any time understanding employee's career path, projects, etc. and jumped to conclusions without fully investigating issues - Random project prioritization again stemming from poor management - Constant visitors, randomly taking pics and shooting videos, standups in the aisle makes really difficult for people to focus on their work - The company keeps talking about culture but rarely seems to investigate employee happiness and satisfaction.
