Pros

Flexitime + friday afternoons off Some interesting people Portsmouth not the worst location (*cough*Stevenage*cough*) Ability to work abroad

Cons

Lower salary than equivalent graduate schemes (even within Airbus Group) Next to no proper training Little direction, especially at the start HR are fairly incompetent and can take months to pay back significant amounts of expenses

Pros

The work culture is excellent. They care about the welfare of their employees including their personal development. The work load is measured properly and they make sure all employees have a fair share of work without overburden. Management listens and takes corrective action wherever possible. Salary is moderate with some benefits but according to aerospace standard in India. Ample of opportunities to switch between teams and they encourage collaboration among teams within department at least. Weightage given to additional activities that adds value to business or generation of more budget in the department.

Cons

Lacks a bit on basic infrastructure like laptops and other enabling devices, however they are gradually working on it. The image one has in mind about working in Airbus might not be met until one gets to work in their Europe locations since that’s where the major things happen and where one gets to see the true output of the work that he/she does from India with all the test rigs, assembly lines and other RnD centres being out there.

Pros

Likeable and skilled co-workers. Extremely flexible working hours (flexi-time). Low pressure.

Cons

Zero R&D budget, which means little prospect of contributing to new products or development. Often insufficient work load. Project code systems means employees are essentially prohibited from (for example) working on product improvements/R&D etc when workload is low. Fairly poor pay.
