Pros

Lots of support from branch to branch, but not from the top down.

Cons

All upper management, presidents, area vice presidents have created such a demeaning gotcha culture because they don’t know how to do their jobs. They intimidate and make substantiated threats, then backtrack and coverup.

Pros

Decent pay (only due to being a legacy Air Liquide employee). Strong tendency toward promotion from within, as long as you are willing to cut corners and also put the company's needs above home/family...

Cons

Little to no actual training. Frequently understaffed (which could be remedied faster if there were an actual training program). Inundated with useless and nonsensical trainings and corporate emails. Unsafe working conditions: Work being performed without lock-out/tag-out by the facility manager. Failure to acquire management of change for equipment changes. Bending and breaking the rules and Sop's to suit budgetary restrictions and time constraints. Federal regulations (OSHA, FDA, EPA) disregarded due to ignorance or inconvenience. Frequent safety and reliability issues are patched up and ignored until there is no choice but to address the issue. When the local management isn't sneaking out early, they are overbearing and abusive. Communication with upper management is non-existent. No access to company directories to get help when the local management team is of no use. Distribution is in a constant state of disarray, sending trucks in criss-crossing paths and to customers who do not need product for the sole reason of needing somewhere to send the truck drivers every day. Many critical people were liquidated or left when we became Airgas. The work that these people did was shuffled off on to other already overworked employees. All of these issues have intensified since the Airgas/Air Liquide merger.
