Great place for contractors

Pros

I've had a history of bouncing around from gig to gig. I would consider myself a sort of "tech-wanderlust" who enjoys the short term commitment of working from company to company. Akvelon provides contractors great opportunity in great roles whether they are looking for a long term or short term commitment.

Cons

With the mass amount of contractors Akvelon has under it's belt, you may sometimes feel as you aren't fully an Akvelon employee. This is something that's hard to improve as its normal for contractors to feel apart of a company if they don't work directly in the main office.

Pros

Small team that works very closely together, a lot of support available when needed. Working closely with business owners on a daily basis makes for an opportunity to be heard/seen. When you suggest changes to management, they typically will put in effect immediately. Your hard work does not go unnoticed. A lot of opportunity for growth and they promote from within. Great benefits including healthcare, pto, sick days, holiday, vacation, 401K and sometimes random bonus for certain placements.

Cons

You have to have somewhat of thick skin as there are some strong personalities and different cultured backgrounds. Sometimes there can be a communication barrier but overall we are family and have a good synergy.

Pros

My overall experience here has been great. The entire Recruiting Team works well together and is eager to assist one another when needed. The team takes their candidates needs first over simply filling an opening. Leadership is straight forward with their directions and expectations.

Cons

Access to decision makers is sometimes constrained by their availability. There are times when leadership can come off as brash or hostile.
